Davis Defense conducted a Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) course at the Rappahannock Emergency Medical Services (REMS) council early last week for area Fire, Rescue, and Law Enforcement. We got some great shots of students practicing initial assessment and needle decompression.
Thank you for an amazing TCCC training experience in Bernardsville, NJ. I'm a 5-foot-tall, 59-year-old, small-town EMT, and I admit feeling way intimidated by my paramedic and SWAT classmates. The first day, the poor mannequin bled-out thanks to my slow, clumsy tourniquet application. By the scenarios on day 2, I was slapping that baby on in under a minute, relieving a tension pneumothorax under pressure, and doing a seal-team carry on an unresponsive victim with my 6-foot-plus partner. I loved how applicable you made the information to everyone, regardless of their position in the continuum of care. I feel more confident, knowledgeable, and empowered, thanks to Craig Hall and his encouraging, hands-on team. Great job!
